Hi, I decided to write about my yesterday’s yoga class. I have never been a big fan of yoga, but it’s supposed to be good for health, so I decided to take the class. It was called ”Yin yoga”, I had never heard about it before, but it still seemed interesting enough to try. Google said that it is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles.
At the beginning of the class, the instructor introduced everybody to the type of yoga. Turned out that we were going to hold different poses for 4-8minutes each. When I first heard it, it seemed quite extreme, but I like new challenges. The class lasted for 1 hour. We started with a few stretches and then it was time to hold the same pose for 5minutes. It was quite difficult, but I like to test my limits. We did about 5 more poses for 4/5 minutes each and at the end of the lesson, we did some more stretches.
At the end of the class, I felt like I had just done a HIIT workout, I was so exhausted. But I’m still happy I went because trying new things can be very refreshing. Although I think that this type of yoga isn’t made for me and I’ll probably stick to some other kind of yoga. I still recommend trying it because it is different and has a lot of benefits.
Here is a video, if you would like to try it at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzf2kFNf8Yw
Today I have strength training in the evening, that I’m quite excited about and I’ll probably write about it in tomorrow’s post. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to give me feedback.

Yoga is wonderful if done properly. I did it for a decade. Great teachers are hard to find and it can be expensive. In the late 2000s, the yoga movement was hot. Ten years later, it went “woke” and got ridiculous. The covid nonsense put a nail in the coffin of it. So many classes stopped over the covid nonsense. And, some people actually wanted everyone to wear a mask. You can’t deep breathe and do yoga well with a mask on.
Such a shame. I miss it. I also miss Karate. That is a great workout, too.

It’s good you are keeping yourself healthy. Don’t let this crazy world get to you. I can’t even begin to imagine being a teen in today’s society.
I graduated in 1984 and, thankfully, there was no such thing as social media.
